Dr. Brian Pugh
Dr. Brian Pugh is the founder and driving force behind Athens Endodontics. A native of South Carolina, Dr. Pugh received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Clemson University and then continued his education at the Medical University of South Carolina, where he earned his Doctor of Medical Dentistry (DMD) degree. After six years practicing general dentistry in Columbia, SC, Dr. Pugh entered a rigorous two year residency at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, where he completed his specialty training in endodontics. This sets Dr. Pugh apart from others in the field of dentistry as an expert in root canal therapy and related root end surgery. Since graduating from dental school in 1996 and opening our office here in Gwinnett county in 2003, Dr. Pugh has performed over 20,000 successful root canals.
Dr. Pugh and his wife, Leah, live in Duluth and are proud of their two sons. Tristan is a student at the University of Georgia and Brooks attends Greater Atlanta Christian School. When he is not in the office, Dr. Pugh enjoys traveling, scuba diving, tennis and most importantly being a husband and Dad. Dr. Pugh looks for opportunities to serve others and has travelled as far away as India providing dental care to some of the world’s poorest people.
Not only does Dr. Pugh possess a wealth of knowledge and experience in his field, but he also has the compassion and caring that makes good doctors great. He will work closely with your general dentist to provide you with the best possible care.
